Steve Double, Member of Parliament for St Austell and Newquay has welcomed £4.8m of extra funding to the Royal Cornwall Hospital NHS Trust for urgent equipment replacement and improvements.
The announcement on Monday by Secretary of State for Health Matt Hancock MP, follows a successful bid for capital funding by the Trust.
Commenting, Steve said:
“This announcement of £4.8m more capital funding for the Royal Cornwall Hospital NHS Trust is great news and builds on the £40.4m in capital funding they received in December.”
“This is all part of the Government’s Long Term Plan for the future of the NHS, supported by the new cash funding commitment of £33.9 billion by 2023-24, to make sure the NHS is fit for purpose and always there to serve the people of our country.”
