Cllr Linda Taylor has today been confirmed as the new Leader of the Conservative Group on Cornwall Council
Cllr Taylor was selected unopposed by the Conservative Group following previous Group Leader Cllr Phil Seeva’s decision to stand down earlier in the month.
Linda Taylor was first elected to Cornwall Council for Lelant and Carbis Bay in 2017 and has previously been Deputy Leader of the Group.
Commenting, Linda said:
“I am delighted to confirm my new position as Leader of the Conservative Group on Cornwall Council.”
“I pay tribute to my predecessor Phil Seeva, who led the group through a period of transition following the elections last year.”
“We have an excellent varied group of professional and enthusiastic councillors in the Conservative Group and I look forward to working with them and leading the Conservatives into the 2021 elections.”
“With the current Lib Dem led administration not acting in the best interests of the people of Cornwall who we are there to serve, it will all be to play for in 2021. I know we have an excellent chance to take back control of the council, not just from the current administration but also from the senior officers who need to be held to account and not just have their decisions rubber-stamped by a bunch of yes-men.”
“2019 will be an exciting year for Cornwall and I look forward to leading Group into new waters for the new year and beyond!”
