The St Austell and Newquay Conservative Association have selected Polgooth resident Toni Dowrick as their candidate for the upcoming St Mewan By-Election.
The election will be held on 16 April following the resignation of former Cornwall Councillor for St Mewan Cherilyn Mackrory after her election as Member of Parliament for Truro and Falmouth.
Toni said:
“I was honoured to be approached by Cherilyn Mackrory and asked to stand for the St Mewan seat on Cornwall Council. It is humbling to receive the endorsement of the local Conservative Association to stand for them at the upcoming by-election.”
“I live and work in St Mewan. I grew up here and this is my community. If elected I will be a full-time councillor and leader, at the heart of our community, not just in matters regarding Cornwall Council, but in all things.”
“Over previous years I have worked as a volunteer around our community and it would be an honour to represent St Mewan formally on Cornwall Council.”
“I will now be hitting the campaign trail with local volunteers and working my absolute hardest ahead of 16 April to earn your votes!”
