St Minver and St Endellion Cornwall Councillor Carol Mould has singled out Cornwall Council’s new multi-skilled enforcement officers for praise, after their work was highlighted in a national publication.
Cllr Mould worked closely with Cornwall Council’s Neighbourhoods team, beach ranger service and local parish councils in the trial that saw the civil enforcement officers given additional training to be able to deliver fines littering and for dogs being on beaches with dog bans.
The trial was successful and the scheme has subsequently been highlighted in the British Parking News publication.
Commenting, Cllr Mould said:
“I was delighted to work with local stakeholders and officers from Cornwall Council last year in their trial of multi-skilled enforcement officers.”
“The trial has been a notable success and is a great example of organisations working together to provide a better service for their community, reinstating a service lost after Cornwall Council was established, and subsequently there have been far fewer complaints to the Parish Councils on these issues than in previous years.”
“I look forwards to seeing this way of working rolled out across Cornwall in the future and hope the results will be just as beneficial.”
