Cherilyn Mackrory, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Truro and Falmouth, has welcomed the Chancellor Sajid Javid to Truro during a visit to the 117th Primestock Show.
Truro’s Annual Christmas Primestock Show is held in a marquee on Lemon Quay in the City Centre on the first Wednesday in December and is a favourite with farmers, country folk and townspeople alike.
A very popular event which brings the countryside and farming right into the heart of the City, it is believed to be the only Primestock Show in Britain to be held in the centre of a city, making the Truro Show a unique event.
Commenting, Cherilyn said:
“I was delighted to welcome the Chancellor Sajid Javid to Truro’s 117th Primestock show today.”
“Bringing a slice of country life into Truro on Lemon Quay, the Primestock Shock is always a unique highlight in Truro’s festive season and it was great to see it so well attended.”
“We met lots of local farmers who were reassured about our commitment, in a Conservative majority government after December 12th, to post-Brexit funding and rural investment, as well as our support for a ‘buy British’ campaign.”
“If I am honoured to be elected as Member of Parliament for Truro and Falmouth on 12 December you can rest assured that I will continue to work closely with our farming communities in order to ensure their voices are heard loud and clear in Westminster, through Brexit and beyond.”
